Simon Pirie initially trained as a sculptor, then went on to Hooke Park College, part of John Makepeace’s Parnham Trust. He established his own workshops in 1998 in mid-Dorset. Since then he and a small team of makers and have produced a huge variety of projects; from dining sets, to a ceremonial mace, to complete kitchens and interiors. The business remains small by choice, avoiding mass production, enjoying the challenge of bespoke ‘one-offs’ and working closely with clients. Whenever possible Simon utilises native timbers, reflecting an interest in forestry and environmental issue first awakened at Hooke.
